Body Image

“For as long I could remember I’ve been bullied. It was mostly due to my weight. Growing up I didn’t think much of it, mainly because I was used to being alone and spending time to focus on me and myself alone. Although as I started high school, the kids that surrounded me everyday would point it out and then it hit me. I’m fat. Even with that realization, I didn’t do much to slim down or even try to exercise as much as I needed to. As much as high school hurt me, it didn’t stop me from being me. My attitude is still happy go lucky. Yet at times I wonder why should it matter how much I weigh to anybody? What is it with the fixation of skinny vs. everyone else? Is it the media’s fault? Or is it something that we as people are prone to, perfection.”
