NFU is a hard rock band from New York that has been taking their scene by storm. The dynamic, four-piece act has played shows across the tri-state area, and successfully crafted a unique, hard rock sound. Don’t count on NFU playing your favorite 80’s jam because these guys are committed to being 100% original in their music and performances. The band has had songs featured on movie soundtracks and the Discovery ID television series “Dead on Arrival”.

Hailing from Long Island, Schoeffel is a three-piece, Alternative/Indie Rock band who have been on the rise. The band recently opened for the chart-topping band MAGIC! at The Paramount in Huntington, NY performing in front of over 1,000 concert goers. During the band’s down time, Schoeffel has been doctoring up cool covers from fans requests on instagram ranging from popular Top 40 hits like Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” to more comfortable songs like “Notion” by Kings of Leon. In addition to playing shows and interacting with fans via social media, the band has been working hard in the studio on their upcoming EP “Gimme Two Weeks”.

MC CB is an alternative rapper hailing from Harlem, NY who brings you “Raw.Unflinching.Soul”. Getting his musical start back in the “MySpace” days, MC C.B has been creating and performing music for quite some time. His energy both on and off the stage is captivating and easily persuades any audience to lose their self in his music. This year, MC C.B has been creating new music, performing shows and is ready to take on the world!

Juan “DURO” Ortiz is a DJ/Producer originating from the Dominican Republic who made his move to Miami then NYC, and hasn’t been slowing down ever since! Duro has heavily established himself in the Moombahton genre/community, but continues to branch out to new genres and sounds. He even created his own genre called “jerseyton”, which combines Moombahton and Jersey Club to create an all new, very sexy sound!
Recently, Duro stopped by the Required Radio studios to talk with Colette, our Music Director. While she loves his music, as more of a rock fan, Colette felt she needed to bring in an additional voice to help conduct this interview. She made the obvious decision to invite her close friend, Liz Tillman. Liz is a contributor for EDM NYC, and a huge fan of anything Electronica/DJ related.

Dean Catroppa is a Long Island musician who comes from the town of Massapequa and currently resides in Amityville. He is a talented and passionate songwriter, who can play some killer tunes!

Exercitum (EXM) is a hard rock/metal band hailing from Queens, NY. The band is a four-piece act consisting of guys who know how to rock out in studio and on the stage. In addition, they can also get the party started anywhere they go. The band got their start in early 2014, and has been working vigorously over the past year to put EXM on the map.
